Joker from Persona 5 is Smash Bros Ultimate’s First DLC Character
In a surprise announcement at The Game Awards, Nintendo revealed that Joker, the protagonist of Atlus’ JRPG Persona 5, will be the first character included within the Fighter Pass for Super Smash Bros Ultimate. The Fighter Pass will include five characters, each coming with their own stage and music selection. This means that we’ll be getting a Persona stage with some of the series’ beautiful tunes as well. It’s almost certain that each of these characters will also be getting their own amiibo.
No gameplay was shown as the DLC is likely early in development, but you can see Joker’s reveal trailer below
Reggie Fils-Aime from Nintendo of America was present at the show, saying it was exciting to be able to surprise people with Joker’s inclusion in Smash and hyping up that you’ll be able to summon a Persona when you play as him. He went on to say that the rest of the DLC selections for Super Smash Bros Ultimate will be big surprises as well, so I for one am very excited to see what Nintendo pull out of their hat.
Super Smash Bros Ultimate is available now for the Nintendo Switch. You can purchase the Fighter Pass to get instant access to a Mii Costume based off Rex from Xenoblade Chronicles 2, and access to each of the DLC characters as they are released.
